Last week was a very stressful time. It can be that way sometimes when working for a nonprofit. Well, my husband share a passage of scripture with one of my coworkers and me.
The scripture was 2 Kings 4:1-7 (The Widow’s Oil). He asked us, as the Prophet Elisha asked the widow woman, what did we have in our house. See, the widow woman thought
she had nothing in her house that was of value to use to pay off her debts, but in essence she did. She had a pot of oil that she was not using. It may not have been of any value to her, but to those individuals who needed her product, that oil was of some value to them. They were willing to pay for that oil. Well, it got me to thinking of all the skills that I have not been putting to use that could be of service and value to others.
So, I want to share this with you. “You have to use what you got in your house to get what you need.”
