I once met a woman who told me that I was a bad influence on others.  What difference does it make what she thinks? She is only one person, and that’s her opinion.

II once met a man who told me that I was not worth the time.  What difference does it make what he thinks? He is only one person, and that’s his opinion.

I once met another woman who told me that I spoke English poorly.  What difference does it make what she thinks? She is only one person, and that’s her opinion.

Well, I have my own opinion of who I am, and I what my creator intended me to be.  What difference does it make what I think? I can either stand in the shadows of others’ negative opinions or step out in front and shine.

Liberating Thought

This morning I was reading some information that I received, and it made me think about how liberating God’s word is.  For example:

“I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” – Philippians 4:13 (AMP)

I ask you, How can you not feel empowered and liberated after reading those words?  Ready to take on the world?  Well, according to Philippians 4:13, we are!

Lamentations 3:15-23

On a daily bases, we see individuals who are sad and angry.  We wonder to ourselves how in the world did they get that way.  These individuals have been bitter so long until they do not even know that they are bitter.  There are somethings that we have to deal within this world, and if you are not careful will make you sour.  Some life circumstances, such as poverty, abuse, financial crisis, bad jobs, job loss, home foreclosures, and so on, are enough to make the most happiest person grumpy.

Well, I am here to tell you that God does not want bitterness as a way of life for us.  It is possible to be in a place of bitterness and not be bitter.  We have to get to a place, in which we do not allow our environment determine our future.  Romans 8:28 (AMP version) states, “We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.”

You have the power to turn that situation around.  Start declaring to yourself what you want.  Say”I shall” and go to naming.  You got to “say it to see it.”  For example, lack of jobs, create one for yourself – called self-employment.  Just as Ezekiel had to speak to those dry bones, speak life into your dry areas.

Here are 3 Steps to Prevent Bitterness:

  1. Confess unto God – Tell Him what is troubling you.  BE HONEST
  2. Apply God’s word to the situation – Do what He Tells you to do.
  3. Remember that if it was not for His mercy keeping you, you would be consumed. – THANKSGIVING

You know the saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”
